August 26, 2016 of Cheektowaga, NY age 88. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Browarek) Zasowski; dearest father of Larry, Bob (Ellen) Zasowski and Barb (Tim) Johnson; dear grandfather of Gail, Carole, Peter, Erik, Nick and Matt. Predeceased by two brothers; also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Monday from 3-8 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Road (south of Como Park Blvd.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Bowmansville at 11:30 AM (please assemble at church) Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Al was the longtime owner of Starlight Bakery in Cheektowaga, a Charter Member of the Knights of Columbus Father Justin Council #5670, usher and longtime member of the Holy Name Society at Queen of Martyrs Church and founder of the Calla Way Ringers. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, contributions may be made to The Journeys Program at Harris Hill Health Care Facility 2699 Wehrle Drive Williamsville, NY 14221.
