Alice T. Voigt

VOIGT – Alice T. (nee Lis)
Entered into eternal rest on August 18, 2016 after a long illness at the age of 86. Devoted wife of the late Edward W. Voigt Sr.; cherished mother of Edward Jr., Ann M. Bruhn and Donna Lee (Neil) Jones; grandmother of Charles Kleindinst Jr.; beloved daughter of the late Vincent and Cecelia (nee Szelagowski) Lis; sister of Henry (Leanne) Lis and the late Richard Lis; also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alice was a graduate of Villa Maria Academy and the Mercy School of Nursing. She was a lifelong compassionate registered nurse, who was well respected by her peers, patients and those whom she mentored. She worked many years at St. Joseph Hospital and helped initiate their intensive care unit. Alice also volunteered with the Cheektowaga Senior Center and Meals-On-Wheels program, where she touched many lives with her endless dedication to service. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Garden Gate Health Care Facility. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-7 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 85 George Urban Blvd. (west of Harlem Rd.) where funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 AM and from St. John Gualbert Church at 10 AM. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
