Aloisius W. Turkasz, a cherished member of the Cheektowaga community, peacefully passed away on September 23, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, happy memories. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Gaczewski) for an incredible 75 years, showcasing a remarkable partnership that served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

A loving father, Al is survived by his children: Dennis (Dotti), Linda (Hal) Keatting, Michael, and Kenneth (Mary) Turkasz. His heart swelled with pride for his grandchildren, Amy Turkasz, Erin (Michael) Castanza, Christopher (Alexandria) Turkasz, Rachel (Adam) Whelan, Neal (Sara), Alex (Ashley), Steven (Ashley), and Andrew (Ashley), as well as his 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and unwavering love.

Born into a close-knit family, Al was the dear brother of Joan (Joe) Kulczyk and the late Helen (late Ted) Ciurzynski and Joseph (late Emily) and Edward (late Dolores) Turkasz. He was a caring brother-in-law to Eleanor (Larry) Geercken, Betty (late Ray) Wanner, and the late Esther Jedrezejewski, Casey, and Norman Gaczewski. Al's legacy continues with many beloved nieces and nephews, who will carry fond memories of their time with him.

A dedicated Christian and devoted parishioner of Infant of Prague for 72 years, Al’s faith was a guiding light throughout his life. He was known not only for his strong beliefs but also for his love of family gatherings, his enthusiasm for the Buffalo Bills, and his enjoyment in solving challenging puzzles.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Al’s special friends, Don and Denise Stachowski, for their thoughtful support and kindness over the years.

Family and friends are invited to share their farewell on Sunday, September 29th, from 3-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd., Depew, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at Infant of Prague RC Church, where all are encouraged to gather in remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to be made to Roswell Park Alliance or MD Anderson Cancer Center, organizations that reflect Al's spirit of giving and care for others.

Al leaves behind a profound mark on the hearts of those he loved, and he will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so generously shared throughout his life.
