Cheektowaga

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Anthony A. Achtyl, who left us on December 31, 2024, of Cheektowaga, NY. Tony, as he was affectionately known, was a devoted husband to the late Elaine (nee Kajdasz), with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love and laughter.

He was a proud father to his five sons: Alan, Gregory (Rebecca), Bryan (Judith), Todd, and Keith (Angelica), and a cherished grandfather to his ten beloved grandchildren: Mikayla (Frank Minisci), Alexi (Diego Rodriguez), Anya, Ava, Maddison, Mason, Brandon, Joseph, Dimitrios, Zachary, and Joshua, along with his precious great-granddaughter Claire. His family was the center of his universe, and he filled their lives with warmth, wisdom, and joy.

Tony was also a loving brother to Barbara (the late Steve) Bernat and Mary Jane (Kenneth) Pszczolkowski, and he is now reunited with his late brother John (Leona) Achtyl. He leaves behind nieces and nephews who will carry fond memories of their Uncle Tony.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday and Friday from 3-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd, Depew, NY 14043. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 10:00 AM  at St. Philip the Apostle Parish, where we will gather to celebrate his extraordinary life. Please assemble at the church.

Tony was proud of his career as a Journeyman Machine Repairman for over 40 years at Saginaw Streering and Gear which later became American Axle in Buffalo.  He was also a member of the Niagara Frontier Orchid Society.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, ensuring Tony's legacy of caring continues in the support of children in need.

Tony Achtyl's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
