Beloved husband of 39 years to Mary (nee Tachok) Hess; dearest father of Laura (Philip) Holmes, Alison Hess (fiancé Jeff Kunkel) and Megan (Jason) Babirad; dear Papa Dave to Harper and Reid Holmes; son of the late Marvin and Arlene (nee Prefert) Hess; brother of Bonnie (Joe) Dagonese and Lee (Joan) Hess; uncle of Brian and Karin; brother in law of Paul (Gail) Tachok. In addition to family Dave was loved and admired by many. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Rd. (south of Como Park Blvd.) Family and friends are invited to assemble for a Funeral Service at New Apostolic Church 314 Pine Ridge Rd. Cheektowaga 14225 on Saturday at 10 AM. Dave enjoyed spending time with family, friends and loved boating, fishing, hunting, being a grandpa and was an animal lover. He was a Master Sergeant (Retired) in the NY Air National Guard, serving 28 years, longtime Officer and Honorary Retiree of IUEC Local 14 retired in 2006 and a QEI Certified Elevator Inspector.
