Denise M. Szymusiak

Denise M. Szymusiak, 59, of Lancaster, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 22nd, 2024, at Hospice & Palliative Care in Buffalo, NY with loving family by her side after a short battle with breast cancer.

Denise is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Mark Szymusiak, as well as her children Brooke, Paige, and John Szymusiak whom she committed so much of her love and life to. Denise was the eldest daughter of Henry and Rita Podsiadlo, sister of Michele (Michael) DiRienzo, and brother of Kenneth (Janel) Podsiadlo. She was the loving aunt of Alexandra Bella, Megan Sada, Trevor and Logan Becker, and Sophie Podsiadlo. She was the daughter-in-law of Edward (Christine) Szymusiak.

Denise graduated as a Wildcat from Depew High School - Class of 1982. She then earned her nursing degree from Trocaire College where she spent some time nursing in local Buffalo hospitals.

Denise was the proud owner of Minks Salon & Spa since 2002. She built her business from the ground up through hard work and a strong passion for cosmetology after changing her career path from nursing.

Denise was always giving and caring towards her family, friends, and loved ones. She passionately devoted her time to God, her faith, and her church family. Denise spent endless Sunday mornings at the Southtowns Church of Christ worshiping God with what felt to her was a second family. When Denise was not out supporting her three children in their musical, athletic, and academic activities, she enjoyed spending time at home gardening, cooking healthy meals, hosting her family in her home and having a glass of wine in her backyard hot tub.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 26th from 4-8pm at the New Comer Funeral home. A brief funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 27th at 10am also at New Comer Funeral Home - 5090 Transit Rd, Depew, NY.
