October 28, 2016; of Depew, NY; at the age of 78; Beloved husband of 57 years to Rose Marie (nee Cichowska) Herko. Dearest father of Charlene (Charles) Cummings, Janice (Eric) Orlowski, Paul J. Herko and the late Debra R. Herko. Dear grandfather of Erik (Nicole) Cummings, Danielle (Michael) Pfentner, Erica (Matthew) Weber, Kari Orlowski, Carolynne, Mathew, Nicholas Herko and great-grandfather of Lucas, Calissa and Baby P. Brother of Patricia Herko, late John (Sharon) Herko, late Geraldine Serwon and brother-in-law of Estelle (late Richard) Walawander and Francis (Linda) Cichowski. Also survived by nieces, nephews and many great friends. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Sunday (TODAY) from 3-8 p.m. at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Road (south of Como Park Blvd.) where funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 a.m. and from Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Donald was a Navy veteran, member of Carpenters Local #276 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2692. Flowers gratefully declined.
