August 23, 2016 age 67 of Cheektowaga, NY. Beloved husband of 43 years to Barbara T. (nee McLoughlin) Whitehead; dearest father of Renée Whitehead (Joey Berizzie), Ronnie Whitehead and Ryan (Sarah Norgren) Whitehead; loving grandfather of Violet, Vivian and Bryce; son of the late Eugene E. and Mary G. (nee Peacock) Whitehead; brother of Karen (Randy) Polakiewicz, Daniel O. (Melinda) Whitehead and Tricia (Hans) Vosburgh; uncle of Jimmy and Kelli; also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends Friday 3-8 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 85 George Urban Blvd. (west of Harlem Rd.) where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM. Eugene served in Vietnam with Charlie Company 1st Battalion 9th Marines “The Walking Dead”, a retiree of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Peace Bridge Authority a member of the American Legion, the Niagara Frontier MCL #239 and a former coach for Beverly Hills and Cheektowaga Warriors Youth Hockey.
