BOBECK – James E.
Age 78, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2021, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of 58 years to Edwina “Winnie” (nee Halicki); loving father of David (Lauren), Glenn (Ann), Kathleen (James) Pack and James (Jessica); proud grandfather of Aaron, Kyle, Bradley, Natalie Pack, Eva, Audrie Pack, Sophia, Madison and Megan; son of the late Walter and Eugenia (nee Malkowski) Bobeck; brother of the late Walter (Dolores) Bobeck; also survived by in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends Friday, November 5th from 3-7 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Rd. (south of Como Park Blvd., Depew) where funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM and from St. Philip the Apostle Church at 10 AM. Interment St. Adalberts Cemetery. Jim excelled in football and basketball at Sloan High School, where he is a member of the Sloan High School Athletics Hall of Fame. He received a football scholarship to the University of Buffalo, however, a knee injury unfortunately cut his career short. Jim subsequently moved into law enforcement and was a respected officer of the Cheektowaga Police Department for over 30 years. Jim was an avid golfer, bowler and cherished time with Winnie, his family and especially his grandchildren.
