With heavy hearts, we gather to honor the life of Jim Damp—a devoted husband, beloved brother, and cherished uncle. Jim, a remarkable soul who graced our lives with his warmth and kindness, is now reunited with his beloved wife, the late Mary Ann (nee Connolly) Damp. Their love was a radiant beacon, lighting the way for many, and their partnership stands as a testament to unwavering devotion and hard work.
As a beloved brother, Jim was a treasure in the lives of his siblings, Ann (Howard Olsen) Bellock and Susan (late John) Grant. His love extended beyond the bonds of brotherhood; he was a loving uncle to Darrin (Larissa) Grant, Sheryl (Mike) Cox, Susan (Stephen) Gervais, Lynee Berger, Lauren (Garrett) McKay and a proud great-uncle to Efrain, Marina, Serafina, Owen James, Caleb John and Parker David. Each family member carries a piece of his spirit within them—a legacy of joy, laughter, and cherished memories that will endure through the years.
For nearly three decades, Jim and Mary Ann poured their hearts into their business, Transit Pools and Patio, located in the heart of Lockport. Together, they navigated the challenges of running a business, crafting not just a successful venture, but a home brimming with laughter and hope. Weekends were sacred to them—a time to embrace the love of family and friends, creating precious moments that will now be held even more dearly in the hearts of those who loved him. Jim and Mary Ann also shared a passionate love for the Buffalo Bills, a highlight being their attendance at a game immediately following their wedding reception—a true reflection of their spirited enthusiasm for their favorite team!
Jim's absence leaves an undeniable void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Today, we celebrate his beautiful life, reflecting on the countless moments of joy he shared and the values he embodied: hard work, love, and the sacred importance of family. Jim Damp will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever resonate in our hearts—guiding us, inspiring us, and reminding us to cherish each moment we are given.
