METZGER, JAMES A.
October 25, 2016; of Cheektowaga, NY; at the age of 91; Beloved husband of 46 years to Irene (nee Paprota) Metzger. Dearest father of Nancy (Michael) Guercio, Judith (Thomas) LaBrake, Laurie (David) Krajewski and the late James R. (Nancy) Metzger. Dear grandfather of nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Brother of Rita Metzger. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 85 George Urban Blvd. (west of Harlem Rd.) where funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Jim was a Navy veteran of WW II serving with the Seabees in the South Pacific and a retiree from ITT Standard. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, contributions may be made to either Hospice Buffalo or the SPCA. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sliwinskifuneralhome.com
