August 1, 2015; of Cheektowaga, NY; beloved husband of 23 years to Diane M. Baron. Dearest father of Christine Lynn DiBenedetto, Theresa Russell and Kathleen (Andrew Levinger) Russell. Dear grandfather of Samantha Lynn, Peter, Jr. and Robert James. Brother of Alberta (Francis) Chamberlain and the late Janet (Emmanuel) Tszankis. Also survived by nieces, nephews and his faithful canine companion Winston. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Thursday 4-8 p.m. at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 85 George Urban Blvd. (west of Harlem Rd.) where funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:30 a.m. and from Queen of Martyrs Church at 9:00 a.m. John was an Air Force veteran and a volunteer at the V.A.
