Katherine Shirley Byrne

Katherine Shirley Byrne (nee Meehan) of West Seneca, gracefully departed this life on February 17, 2025. A loving matriarch, she cherished the roles she played as mother to Laurie (David) Lasky and Paula (James) Burns, and remained ever watchful over the memory of her beloved daughter, Linda (Francis) Weimer.

Shirley found profound joy in her role as grandmother to Jean Cropp, Jeffrey (Bethany) Weimer, Mark Weimer, Julie (Richard) Traulsen, and Kevin (Jordan) Lasky, where laughter and love flourished. Her heart expanded yet again with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Charlie, Jack, Kendall, Piper, and Alex, who filled her days with wonder and delight.

Born to the late John and Mildred Meehan, Shirley dedicated over forty years of her life to the noble vocation of a Registered Nurse, serving the Catholic Health System with unwavering commitment. Her passion for helping others extended beyond her profession, as she proudly drove for Meals on Wheels, embodying kindness and generosity at every turn.
