August 12, 2012 in Birmingham, AL at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Siegel; dearest mother of Virginia (David) Kenny, Frederick Siegel and Cathleen McAlpine; dear grandmother of Jacqueline (David) Kenny-Marwick, Julianne (Don) Kenny- Saunders, David Kenny, Jeannette (Keith) Kenny-Kibler, Frederick III (Yvette) Siegel, Katherine (Kristofer) Chuhta, Terese (Joel) Siegel-Santana, Christine Siegel, Maximillian Siegel, Mickennzie Siegel, Montgomery Siegel, Regina Ziolkowski-D'Andrea (Rick), William Ziolkowski and 13 great grandchildren; daughter of the late Guisseppe and Catherina (nee Ricigliano) Mastandrea; sister of Angelo (late Vincentina) Mastandrea, Stephen Michael (late Marian) Mastandrea, Sr. Angela Marie RSM; Anthony Mastandrea, Donald Mastandrea, John (Jean) Mastandrea and the late Joseph, Vincent (Arlene), Frank, Victor, Virginia (William) Schaffstall, Edward and Frederick Mastandrea; also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 85 George Urban Blvd. (west of Harlem Rd.) where funeral services will be held Friday at 8:45 AM and from St. Anthony of Padua Church at 9:30 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Siegel was a retired teacher at Nativity of Blessed Virgin in Buffalo, loved her family, ceramics, crocheting, traveling, casinos and cooking. Maria was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who's lives she touched.
