LIMERI - Mary R. (nee Ammirati)
August 9, 2012 of Ft. Erie Ontario Canada at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late John Limeri; dearest mother of Beverly (late Jean) Malona; dear grandmother of Elisa (Balazs Tamoga) Malona-Tamoga and John Malona. Sister of the late Carlo (late Rose) Ammirati and the late Aurora Scherer. Also survived by nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Monday in Holy Angels Church 348 Porter Avenue at 10:00 a.m. Entombment in the Limeri Mausoleum on Mirror Lake at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mary was a graduate of the Millard Fillmore School of Nursing Class of 1947. As Head Nurse she established the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Unit at Millard Fillmore Hospital (Gates Circle) and 30 years later established the Same Day Surgery unit at Millard Fillmore Hospital (Gates Circle) and retired in 1993. Mary was an acquaintance of Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and helped to initiate the first Hospice Committee in Buffalo, was a member of the Dante Club and had her own column in the Fort Erie, Ontario Canada newspaper. Mary inspired her daughter, nieces and grandnieces to dedicate themselves to the nursing profession. Arrangements by MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME.
