November 2, 2021 age 86 of Cheektowaga, NY. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie L. (nee Slawik) Braun; dearest father of Michele (John) Rizzo, Richard G. Braun Jr. (Tannyah Chapman), Michael (Dina) Braun and Melissa (James) Smits; dear grandfather of Jay Rizzo, Anthony (Kate) Rizzo, Megan (Joe) Osika, Victoria Braun, SSG. US Army (Thomas Lepsch), Abbey Braun, Molly Smits, Sarah Braun, Kaitlyn Braun and Melanie Smits; great grandfather of Caylin, Thomas, Sean, Jacob and Addison; son of the late George and Margaret (nee O’Brien) Braun; brother of the late Robert (late Anna) Braun and the late Patricia (late Bernard) Swiatek; also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends Thursday, November 4th from 3-7 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Rd. (south of Como Park Blvd.) where funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15 AM and from Queen of Martyrs Church at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Braun was a lifelong member of the Knights of St. John Commandery 13. He served as Colonel, Past Regimental Commander and Past 1st Vice President of the Buffalo Grand Commandery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in Richard’s memory to Camp Good Days and Special Times, or Hospice Foundation where he volunteered for 20 years.
