December 28, 2013; of Cheektowaga, NY; Unexpectedly at the age of 80; Beloved husband of 58 years to Jean E. (nee Balash) Hendricks. Dearest father of Karen (Thomas) Bettino, Linda (Glen) Harding, Nancy (Jeff) Beenau, Richard (Michelle) and John (Kathleen) Hendricks. Dear grandfather of 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Brother of Mary Hendricks and the late Catherine Powers, George Hendricks and Rev. Louis J. Hendricks. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 85 George Urban Blvd. (west of Harlem Rd.) where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and from Queen of Martyrs Church at 11:00 a.m. Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Richard was a retired New York State Trooper, member of the New York State Retired Troopers Association and a Army veteran.
