Roger D. Miller

April 9, 1947 — August 8, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of, Roger Duane Miller, who left us on August 8th, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born to Myron and Onalee Miller (both deceased) in Wellsville, NY where he grew up with his younger siblings Rodney (deceased) and Roxanne. He attended Houghton College (now Houghton University) and enlisted into the Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was a man of oddball humor and a giving heart, who spent the better part of his life in service as an envoy in the Salvation Army. Prior to this he was also an English teacher, sports coach, retail salesman, insurance salesman, and pastor. His passion for fishing was hard to match and he loved music, as he both sang and played the guitar. He is survived by his current wife, Karen Miller, step daughter, Danielle Soliman (Farouk), step grandchildren, Laila, Lexi, Lucas, Zachary, Quinn, Noah, Roger’s son, David (Laura), grandchildren, Joshua (Danielle) and Matthew Miller, and his younger sister, Roxanne Fisk (Tom) and her family.

A graveside service will be held with military honors, Saturday, October 26th, 9AM, at Woodlawn Cemetery 276 S Main St, Wellsville, NY 14895.  A luncheon and memorial service will be held, Sunday, October 27th, noon, at The Salvation Army of Batavia 529 E Main St, Batavia, NY 14020.  Anyone attending is invited to bring a canned good to be donated in his name as he had a passion for helping those in need.
