Shirley Anna Anger (nee Yarington) graced this world with her presence for 94 beautiful years, until her passing on August 10, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife the late Claude Anger, with whom she shared a remarkable journey of love that spanned 63 years, beginning as sweethearts in their teens and enduring through life’s many chapters.
A cherished matriarch, Shirley is now reunited with her beloved sisters, Joyce (Paul) Davis and Lorraine (late David) Luntz. Her enduring legacy lives on through her children: Gail (David) Johnson, Linda (late Allen) Larson, Judy (Dale) Russell, Randy (Susan) Anger, and Robby (Kimberly) Anger, as well as her 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, each of whom carry a piece of her heart. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and laughter.
Shirley's spirit was a vibrant tapestry woven with love for her family and an infectious joy for life. She often filled her home with song, a melody that perfectly mirrored her silly sense of humor. Known for her nurturing soul, she delighted in caring for the ones she loved, whether it was holding a baby, playing cards, or twirling across the dance floor at weddings.
Craftsmanship was another avenue of her affection—she found peace in sewing and crocheting, diligently creating gifts from the heart. Her love for the sunshine led her to enjoy winters in Florida, where she created cherished memories under the warm sun.
The family invites you to celebrate her extraordinary life at a memorial service on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11 am, at The Well, 995 Dodge Road, Getzville, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Salvation Army would honor her generous spirit and commitment to caring for others.
