February 5, 2017 age 65 of Springville, NY. Beloved husband of 46 years to Sandra A. (nee Hamp) Wentland; dearest father of Thomas (Amanda) and Keith Wentland; loving grandfather of Jacob and Paige; brother of Daniel (Kathy), Diane and Scott Wentland; also survived by nieces and nephews. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 5090 Transit Rd. (south of Como Park Blvd.) where funeral services will be held at 9 PM. Thomas was a retired Detective with the Town of Cheektowaga Police Dept. after 33 years of service, serving also with its mounted unit, motorcycle unit, CSI unit, one of the original members of the SWAT Team and served as treasurer for the Cheektowaga Police Club.; also for 28 years worked security for the Buffalo Bills and 8 years with the mounted unit for the Erie County Fair.
