November 3, 2017 age 86 of Cheektowaga, NY. Beloved husband of 60 years to Helen Leona (nee Maciejewski) Podyma; dearest father of Karen (James) Mikoll, Michael (Lori), James (Martha) and Steven (Cheryl) Podyma; dear “Grandpa Vic” to grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in-law of late Joseph (Annette) Maciejewski and Anne (late Gary) Fialkiewicz. Family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Sunday November 5th from 2-6 p.m. at the MELVIN J. SLIWINSKI FUNERAL HOME 85 George Urban Blvd. (west of Harlem Rd.). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday in Queen of Martyrs Church at 11AM. (please assemble at church). Interment in St. Adalbert Cemetery will be held privately. Flowers gratefully declined. Mr. Podyma served with the US Navy as a Radioman with a rank of P.O. 2nd Class and was a retiree of Western Union Telegraph Company. www.sliwinskifuneralhome.com
