It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Walter R. Clark Sr., a beloved husband, dedicated father, and cherished friend. Walter's journey came to a peaceful close on April 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength.
Walter was a devoted husband to Cyril, and together they navigated life with an unbreakable bond. His love and guidance as a father were evident to all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Walter Jr. (Kareama), June (Vincent), Peter (Zorita), Kimberly (David), Catherine (Glenn), Elvis Tony (Vonica), Denise (Brian), Charles (Angie), and Eric Bernard (Shelia). Each of them carries forward his values and spirit.
As a proud deputy sheriff for the Erie County Sheriff's Department, Walter served his community with honor for 22 years before retiring, embodying dedication and a sense of duty that inspired those around him.
Walter's family tree flourished under his nurturing, and he leaves behind cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who were blessed to have him in their lives.
A celebration of Walter's life will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Walls Memorial AME Zion Church, located at 455 Glenwood Ave., Buffalo. The wake will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at St. Matthews Cemetery.
